In 2023, the Brisbane Times introduced us to the whimsical world of tiny doors, created by artist Mace Robertson. These hidden gems, reminiscent of something out of Alice in Wonderland, were scattered throughout Brisbane’s laneways, waiting to be discovered by curious passersby.

Fast forward to 2025, and we’re thrilled to report that these magical little doors have not been lost—in fact, they continue to delight and surprise those who take the time to look.

Robertson’s vision of turning Brisbane into a city of hidden fairy doors has only grown. With doors tucked away in Fish Lane, Burnett Lane, Bakery Lane, and beyond, they have become a beloved part of Brisbane’s urban landscape.

As Robertson once said, “There is a nice little narrative where you get the impression that there’s someone there—a tiny world just beyond the door.”

So, if you haven’t yet taken the time to search for them, now is the perfect moment. Who knows? You might just stumble upon a new one.
